Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali could be involved in Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wolves despite being handed a 10-month ban lodibet
The Italian lodibet Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed on Thursday that the 23-year-old had been suspended until next season after agreeing a plea bargain as part of an investigation into illegal lodibet betting activity lodibet
However, Newcastle say they are yet to be officially informed of the ban, which is yet to be ratified by world governing body Fifa and, as it stands, the £55m summer signing from AC Milan was due to travel to the Midlands on Friday afternoon with the rest of the squad lodibet
Magpies head coach Eddie Howe said: “It’s a difficult one because we haven’t had official confirmation as a lodibet football club yet lodibet
“We’ve heard the news, the statement, but we haven’t had anything from the Italian authorities at the moment, so we’re in limbo, really, waiting for that official confirmation to come through lodibet
”Asked if there was a chance the Italy international could be involved at Molineux, Howe added: “Yes, I think there’s a high chance again that he could be available for us lodibet
“I still think there are a few things that have to happen before the ban is imposed, so let’s see lodibet
”I think there's a high chance again that he could be available for usEddie Howe on Sandro TonaliThe Italy international was also fined 20,000 euros and will have to undergo eight months of therapy as well as carrying out a series of public appearances lodibet
Tonali found himself at the centre of a probe during this month’s international break into breaches of lodibet betting rules and was alleged to have wagered on games involving former clubs Brescia and Milan during his spells with them lodibet
Agent Giuseppe Riso has claimed Tonali is living with a “gambling addiction” and the Magpies have vowed to support him as he attempts to deal with that, but as it stands he remains available for selection at a time when Howe’s midfield resources have been depleted by a back injury which will sideline Elliot Anderson for eight weeks, while Jacob Murphy is awaiting a verdict on the shoulder he dislocated against Dortmund lodibet
(Getty Images)The Magpies boss, who will be without striker Alexander Isak following a recurrence of a groin problem, said: “At the moment, he’s travelling with us lodibet
We’re preparing as if he’s fit and available to play lodibet
”In the longer term, Howe knows Tonali faces a difficult spell on the sidelines – the club does not yet know whether he will be able to train with his team-mates – and one which will have to be carefully managed lodibet
He said: “Certainly with Sandro’s situation, if he is ultimately banned for that length of time, he’s going to have really difficult moments within that timeframe, a lot of attention on him initially, and that’s a difficult situation for him lodibet
“But then no doubt there’ll be a period where it’s just training – wherever he trains – and no game, and that’s very difficult for any player to adjust to, especially when they’re fit and able to play, so that’s going to be a difficult one lodibet
“The communication lodibet between us, me and my coaching staff and him, is going to be hugely important lodibet

England insist Tom Curry is ready for Friday’s World Cup bronze final as squad and management rally around the flanker caught in a racism storm lodibet
World Rugby is investigating an allegation made by Curry that he was racially abused by South Africa hooker Bongi Mbonambi in the first half of Saturday’s semi-final defeat lodibet
Curry claimed to referee Ben O’Keeffe that he was called a “white c***” by Mbonambi and, after a complaint made by the Rugby lodibet Football Union, audio and video footage is being examined for evidence lodibet
If the 25-year-old is picked against Argentina on Friday night it will be his 50th cap and attack coach Richard Wigglesworth is confident the alleged incident will not be a disruption as England prepare to sign off their World Cup lodibet
“Tom is good lodibet
I know players will have got around him lodibet
Steve and the management team have been all over it lodibet
I’m sure he’s getting every bit of support that he needs,” Wigglesworth said lodibet
“I’m not sure you can ever put yourself in those shoes and know that feeling lodibet
What I do know is he’s an impressive young man who, if selected on Friday, will pour everything into that England shirt as he has done on the previous 49 occasions lodibet
“It will be dealt with by World Rugby lodibet
We get stuck into our prep for Argentina lodibet
The process is the process and we have no knowledge of how long that will go on for or the outcome, but we have to get ready for Argentina lodibet
“Every week there is always some sort of thing you could be distracted by lodibet
It’s international rugby, there’s a lot you could be distracted by lodibet
You want to be in situations where there are distractions lodibet
“This distraction is different, but it’s still noise that isn’t about Friday night, our prep and our desire to finish in the right way lodibet
“World Rugby has been pretty vocal in following up things in the past and they need to do the same again lodibet
”Tom is good lodibet
I know players will have got around him lodibet
Steve and the management team have been all over itRichard WigglesworthWigglesworth’s words were echoed by Ben Earl, England’s player of the World Cup who started the last two matches in the same back row as the Sale openside lodibet
“Tom’s a brilliant team-mate, a brilliant friend of mine lodibet
He’s also an incredibly resilient guy,” Earl said lodibet
“He gives his all for the team and I know he’s going to be doing that this weekend lodibet
I hope it all gets resolved very quickly lodibet
”Wigglesworth was unable to shed any light on a report that defence coach Kevin Sinfield will leave England after the World Cup by mutual consent lodibet
England’s defence has improved markedly during the tournament in France and they only conceded one try to world champions South Africa lodibet
“There’s nothing that I’ve been aware of from Kevin, so it’s a hard one to comment on because it’s not me who the story is about,” Wigglesworth said lodibet
“Hopefully there’s not much in it lodibet
I’m sure that post-World Cup and down the line we’ll find out if there is lodibet
“He’s a close ally of mine from Leicester lodibet
We were two guys who lived away from the club so we travelled and stayed over lodibet
“I spent a lot of time with him, and even more time with him through this whole process lodibet
“I’m very close to him so I’m probably incredibly biased about what Kev brings but I’m sure the lads in the environment will tell you that he gives absolutely everything lodibet
“He’s had a big impact on individuals and gives up a lot of his time to help lodibet
We know he’s that sort of person and he’s done an exceptional job of doing it lodibet
