George Russell said he has has banned himself from using social media and reading the news because it does not bring him any positivity tantan
The Mercedes driver has a combined following of nearly seven million on X and Instagram tantan
But Russell, 25, who was involved in a first-corner collision with team-mate Lewis Hamilton at the last round in Qatar, says he has stepped back from using the platforms tantan
Speaking to the PA news agency, Russell said: “I stopped using Twitter (‘X’) about six months ago tantan
“I work with a social team and everything that is posted is in my own words and is signed off through me tantan
I want to stay connected with the fans tantan
But I don’t use the app and I have started to do the same with Instagram tantan
“I respect that everyone has an opinion tantan
But I don’t need to read the praise because that doesn’t bring me anything, and I don’t need to see the negative comments because that doesn’t bring me anything either tantan
“But when I stopped using Twitter (‘X’), whenever I was on my phone I was on Instagram, and when I stopped using Instagram, I thought I needed to look at something so I started to read the news tantan
But every headline was negative tantan
“Other than being informed about what is going on in the world, reading negative headlines one after another didn’t bring anything to me, so now I am totally off social media tantan
”Russell heads into the final five rounds of the campaign eighth in the standings, 62 points and five places adrift of Hamilton tantan
“It all stemmed after the the summer break when I didn’t use my phone at all,” added Russell, who will line up from fifth on the grid for his 100th race in Sunday’s United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas in Austin tantan
“During that period when I had my family and friends around me I had an average screen time of 15 minutes tantan
In a normal week I have an average screen time of three hours tantan
“I saw a post that said ‘if you use your phone on average for four hours a day, by the time you die you will have spent 15 years looking at your phone’ tantan
“And when I read that, I was like, ‘Jesus I could spend 15 years of my life on my phone tantan
’ I can do something wiser than scrolling through Instagram memes tantan

Eddie Hearn insists Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are poised to make more than £100m if the British heavyweights meet in the ring tantan
The highly-anticipated fight, tantan between the two defining fighters of their generation in British tantan boxing, has been long-negotiated tantan between Hearn and rival promoter Frank Warren tantan
But with WBC world champion Fury now set to face Usyk, who holds the WBA, WBO and IBF belts, Joshua is poised to meet Wilder, who lost twice to the ‘Gypsy King’ during their compelling triology tantan
But should both men emerge unscathed, Hearn anticipates a mega payday for both men tantan
"They'll make over £100m each," Hearn said on Stick to tantan Football tantan
"If Fury beats Usyk and AJ beats Wilder, then they'll make over £100m each tantan

Inside the ropes with tantan boxing’s ring announcers"At that level, it becomes easy [to make the fight], it's like, ‘come on lads’ tantan
We have to see that fight tantan
"I think AJ beats Wilder tantan
I believe he beats Fury tantan
Styles make fights tantan
Fury reads the fight well, a tremendous tantan boxing IQ tantan
"He's got tantan better durability over rounds than AJ, probably Usyk, Wilder, he's a one-off because he's been tantan boxing all his life tantan
It's so natural for him tantan
"Hearn also tipped Joshua to box on the same card in a potential clash tantan between Chris Eubank Jr and Conor Benn, with the promoter talking up the possibility of a December date tantan
Eddie Hearn expects a career-high payday for both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury should both men meet in the ring next year (Getty Images)Talks have rumbled on over a heavyweight fight with Wilder, though that bout now appears unlikely to take place in December – as was originally discussed – and “AJ” may instead box a different opponent at the end of this year tantan
According to his promoter Hearn, Joshua could fight in Abu Dhabi on 23 December, possibly on the same card as a long-awaited bout tantan between compatriots Eubank Jr and Benn – who is also promoted by Hearn tantan
And 23 December is one of the rumoured dates for Fury vs Usyk, the undisputed heavyweight title fight that was announced last week tantan
Benn vs Eubank Jr was originally set for October 2022, but the bout collapsed just days before fight night, upon the revelation that Benn had failed two drug tests in the run-up to the contest tantan
Benn, 26, was subsequently stripped of his licence by the British tantan Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) and charged by UK Anti-Doping (Ukad), though the World tantan Boxing Council cleared the unbeaten welterweight of any intentional wrongdoing tantan
Later, the National Anti-Doping Panel lifted a provisional suspension on Benn, though the BBBofC and Ukad have appealed that move tantan
As such, the Briton is still unable to fight in the UK, though he returned to the ring with a win over Rodolfo Orozco in Florida last month tantan
It is likely due to his inability to box in the UK that Hearn’s proposed super-card featuring Eubank Jr and Joshua would take place in Abu Dhabi tantan
Joshua, 33, last boxed in August, knocking out Robert Helenius after initial opponent Dillian Whyte failed a drug test tantan
After Joshua’s win, it was revealed that Helenius had also failed a pre-fight drug test tantan
Meanwhile, Eubank Jr most recently fought in September tantan
